Car spray painting for accident and cosmetic repairs
When a panel or bumper has been repaired, replaced or scratched back to primer, it needs to be repainted. Our spray painting service covers a single bumper corner, a full door respray or several panels down one side of the car, painted to match your vehicle and blended into the panels around it so there is no visible edge.
Spray painting is the refinishing stage of a repair, carried out once the panel work is done. You can book a panel or bumper respray as a private repair, and it is included in insurance repairs through our partnered insurers (AAMI, GIO, Apia, Shannons Insurance, Vero, Bingle and Suncorp Car Insurance). We don’t offer a walk-in, whole-car respray service.

Spot repair, single panel or several panels? How we decide
Spot repair
A small chip, scratch or scuff sitting well inside a flat section of the panel can often be repaired locally, with new paint feathered into the surrounding area.
Single panel respray
Damage that covers much of a panel, reaches a panel edge or crosses a styling line usually means repainting the whole panel, blended into the panels either side.
Multi-panel repaint
Side-swipe damage across a door and a guard, or a bumper and both corners, is painted as one job so colour and finish are consistent along that side.
Replacement parts
New panels, bumper covers and mirror caps arrive in primer or bare plastic and are painted to your vehicle's colour before fitting, blended into the parts around them.

Insurance respray or private respray?
Repainting within an approved accident repair through a partnered insurer is included in the repair scope. Cosmetic resprays you'd rather not claim can be booked as a private repair: upload photos for a free quote and pay by credit or debit card before work begins.
Painting near sensors
Radar and parking sensors behind bumper covers read through the plastic, so bumper resprays are kept to specification and any calibration requirement is identified and coordinated as part of the repair. See ADAS calibration.

Common questions about car spray painting
How much does it cost to spray paint a car panel or bumper?
It depends on the size of the panel, how much preparation and repair work it needs, the type of paint (solid, metallic or pearl) and how many adjacent panels need blending. We don’t publish fixed prices because the preparation varies so much between jobs. Upload photos for a free quote.
How long does spray painting take?
Most minor repairs, including single panel and bumper resprays, are completed within days. Larger multi-panel jobs, or repairs waiting on parts, take longer. We confirm an estimated timeframe once your vehicle has been assessed.
Can you paint just one panel?
Yes. Single panel resprays are common after a door, guard or bumper repair. Where the colour meets an adjacent panel, we blend into it so the repainted panel doesn’t stand out.
My bumper has been repainted before. Can it be resprayed again?
Yes. Earlier paint is sanded back so the new paint bonds to a sound surface. If the bumper carries radar or parking sensors, paint thickness over the sensor area is kept within specification and any calibration requirement is coordinated as part of the repair.
